Trainigs of the project “Sanarip Insan” in Osh region

Osh was once an important region on the Great Silk Road linking the west and east of the country. In general, Fergana was the largest city in the valley. Silk and sherbets were sold, camel and horse caravans were endless.

Today, the southern capital of Kyrgyzstan has turned into a peculiar region that includes ancient shrines. The city of Osh is the second most populous city after Bishkek. The city of Osh with 3000 years of history is popular with tourists. Thanks to digital tourism and training in the proper use of social networks in business, local residents will have good opportunities for employment without leaving the country. The Sanarip Insan Project trainings were held in Osh oblast to improve the economic well-being of youth and women by increasing digital literacy.

On 19-20 January, an educational training for youth and women “Basic digital skills and work on digital tourism platforms” was held in Osh city. Participants from different districts of Osh province signed up for the training, the project is aimed at increasing the employment potential of rural youth, women and migrants.

These trainings use the MISTT methodology adapted to the country. The mistt methodology (Mobile Internet Skills Trainings Toolkit) is an application for teaching basic mobile internet skills.

Our trainers taught all participants basic digital skills, and all those who came to this training learnt how to use social networks such as Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Google My Business WhatsApp and Telegram messengers in business.

This event is organised with the financial support of the European Union, the project “Sanarip Insan” “Creation of equal economic opportunities and promotion of youth sustainability”.  It is implemented by the public association “Women’s Entrepreneurship Development Fund (She starts)”.

At the end of the two-day training, the participants were awarded certificates.

Sanarip Insan is a project aimed at improving digital literacy among young people, women, migrants and people living in remote regions. In particular, it proposes the use of digital platforms, learning the functions of social networks, digital financial applications, the use of information technology in online commerce and entrepreneurship, and ways of sustainable development through a green economy. The project is implemented by the European Neighbourhood Council and the  Internet Society Kyrgyz Chapter with the support of the EU.

    Now, all podcast episodes of the project “Sanarip insan” are broadcast on air radio “Osh Pirim”. The audience of this radio is more than 1 million listeners daily and all people have a chance to listen to the podcast of this project live on air. Radio “Osh Pirim” is the main source of information in audio format in Osh (population 1.4 million people), Jalal-Abad (population 1.3 million people) and Batken (population 560 thousand people) regions.

    Jalal-Abad, Osh, Batken are the regions with the largest number of external migration. One of the main reasons is unemployment. hrough the podcasts of the Sanarip Insan project, we encourage citizens to master digital skills, become a sought-after specialist in today’s realities, work and earn money without leaving the country. In addition, we encourage housewives – girls and women to start working, have mastered digital skills, and lead a prosperous life. In other words, we try to find answers to questions about how modern technologies change people’s lives, make their lives easier, save time, help them become specialists following modern requirements, tell in simple terms models of digital personalities that closely interact with information technologies, about their path, image and success.

Sanarip Insan “Digital Citizen” is recognized as the best project of the year

Training of the project “Digital Citizen” in Jalal-Abad region

Jalal-Abad region occupies 17% of the country’s territory with a population of 1238.8 million people. The tourism potential of Jalal-Abad is very strong, as it is known for the Arslanbob walnut forest, the Sary-Chelek lake, the Toktogul reservoir, the Kyzyl-Unkur and Kok-Art natural reserves. This, in turn, creates conditions for improving the economic situation of young people and women with the help of digital skills, without leaving the country. Trainings of the project “Digital Citizen” in Talas region.

Talas region is the smallest region of the country in terms of area and population, occupying only 6% of its territory with a permanent population of 267.4 thousand people. In addition to the mountains, the Talas region has many cultural attractions. This is a historical region of secluded Kyrgyz residence. The memory of the national hero Manas is kept here, in the vast historical complex “Manas Ordo”. There are also ancient burial sites of the Huns, the largest in Central Asia. And the Kirov reservoir, built in Soviet times, is a unique example of architectural monumentalism of those times. The local population has good opportunities for employment or even for creating new jobs without leaving their country, by means of digital literacy and the proper use of digital skills in entrepreneurship.

On December 10-11, a training for young people and women “Basic digital skills and work on digital tourism platforms” was held in the village of Kyzyl-Adyr, Kara-Buura district. Trainings of the project “Digital Citizen” in Naryn region

Naryn is the largest and mountainous region of Kyrgyzstan. The population is about 300 thousand people. Due to the harsh climate in which most residents are engaged in animal husbandry, the younger generation is forced to go abroad in search of work because of unemployment. Recently, there has been an increasing interest of tourists in this region. This, in turn, contributes to the growth of the number of guest houses. However, not all owners of guest houses know how to use modern digital skills when selling their services on the Internet to develop their business. Therefore, digital literacy is of great importance for reducing unemployment, providing workplaces for young people, women and migrants in their country. 

For this reason, the training of the digital personality project takes place in the Naryn region.On November 17-18, the EU-funded project “Promotion of equal opportunities and youth sustainability” training in the Naryn region. It was attended by about 20 young people, women, single mothers who improved their digital skills in the field of tourism and digital professions. It isimplemented Foundation of the Development of Entrepreneurship among Women “She starts”.In training mentors use an adapted MISTT methodology. On the first day of training (November 17), participants received information about the SMM and got acquainted with the ways of its proper use in business. Facebook Instagram, Tik-Tok platforms, as well as Google Statistics, WhatsApp, Telegram messengers were also taught by the participants how to work in practice with Facebook, Instagram, Tik-Tok platforms. As a result, each participant was able to create their own pages on social networks, link them to messengers and learn how to send links.The second day of the training is dedicated to tourism and its participants directly: Google; Airbnb; TripAdvisor; Booking.com was told about the platforms and trained in the methods of practical use.Then, following the results of the two-day training, the participants were awarded certificates. The “Sanarip Insan” project will continue the training in other regions of the country
