The “Internet Society Kyrgyz Chapter,” with financial support from the U.S. Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic, has initiated a project aimed at strengthening entrepreneurship and developing small businesses in the regions, beginning with training 500 women in the field of “Digital Tourism.”
The first training sessions under this project took place from March 10-17 2024 in towns and villages of Osh, Jalal-Abad, and Batken provinces, involving 180 local women, youth, and guesthouse owners.
Participants gained proficiency in digital skills using the Mobile Internet Skills Training Toolkit (MISTT) methodology, including the use of social networks such as Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp Business. They also learned to utilize Google Maps and mark guesthouses on 2GIS maps, register and operate room booking platforms like Booking.com, Airbnb, and TripAdvisor.com, manage reviews effectively, and use the Travelline web PMS hotel management system.
The primary goal of the project is to enhance the digital tourism knowledge and skills of 500 women, thereby improving their economic well-being.
